The Donvale Tennis Club was formed in 1965 and has a proud history as one of Victoria’s finest. The club was awarded Metropolitan Club of the Year by Tennis Victoria in 2004.
There are eight excellently maintained en-tout-cas courts plus two state of the art artificial clay courts. These new clay courts were constructed in 2006 and do not require the same level of maintenance nor do they require watering. An agreement with Manningham Council will result in all courts being converted to these over time - the next 2 will be completed over this coming summer. In the wetter months, these courts can be played on immediately after rain due to the drainage capabilities of the surface. Six courts, including the clay courts, are lit for night play.
The double-storey clubhouse features a lounge, television, bar facilities, fully equipped kitchen, toilets and showers, junior games room, barbecue facilities, a practice wall and ample car parking well away from any roadway.
The total number of members is just over 300, many of whom reside in the Donvale and Doncaster area. It is estimated that some 15,000 people pass through the club each year
The Donvale Tennis Club prides itself on promoting a healthy, social environment where individuals and families can enjoy the game of tennis. We have various social and competitive tennis options and accommodate all standards, from beginners to state level, and from 3-4 year old Little Kidz tennis coaching to veteran’s competition.
The club is represented on the Tennis Victoria Council and has a full time HIGH PERFORMANCE COACH. Mark Hartnett is the proprietor of Pro Tennis Academy and is accredited to the highest national level. Mark was awarded Coach of the Year in 2004.
